According to a new study of BrightEdge – an SEO platform provider conducted with their Data Cube Data set up found that organic traffic was the main source of traffic over social media, and paid search of the different sectors studied. The percentage of the website traffic has given below according to study.

The sectors which are studied under the study are business services, hospitality, media and entertainment, retail and technology. Here are some of the interesting findings of the study.
- Though the organic traffic is the main traffic driver percentage varied greatly according to sectors with Business leading all sectors.
- Paid search varies according to industry and retail, media and entertainment get the maximum traffic and while social media gets trivial traffic from this channel.

Conclusion: Organic search is generating more than half of the total traffic on a website but paid is more important to generate revenues for companies.
