Social media is being used by many retail chains in an increasing sale of products. Social media sites are a hub for potential buyers with millions of users worldwide. Facebook, in collaboration with e-commerce service provider Shopify, integrated a buy-button for users. Now, this buy-button has been integrated and being tested by different retailers with the help of Shopify. It is being considered as an important step to increase the sale of a product in social media.
Buy-button Integration in Newsfeed and Commercial Ads
The main motive of integrating a buy-button in the newsfeed and commercial ads is to allow users to purchase products directly from the page itself without needing to go to the original website. Facebook has been proceeding with the development of a trade-based structure for a long time and now displaying this button in its network. Though Facebook has been working in this direction for a long time the process has been taken forward after the collaboration with Shopify.
Encouraging Retailers To Test The Button
Some chosen retailers, whose online shops are based on Shopify, are testing the buy-button on Facebook to find out if customers are really interested in ordering products directly through this social media network. The purchase can be done on commercial posts, newsfeeds on Facebook and even on the retailers own pages. Shopify is inviting more retailers to participate in this test-phase and report the experience to the company. Facebook is one of the top social media platforms generating lots of sales from its network. Nearly two-thirds of all social media visitors to Shopify stores and 85% of social media sales are generated by Facebook. The company is asking more retailers to participate in the test-phase to help understand the behaviour of the users properly. This is being considered as another important attempt by Facebook to remain on top of e-commerce game through the buy-button was integrated as early as 2014.
