Google is rolling out green ad label globally. Since April, Google users have been observing green ad label instead of yellow one in the search result.
Last week, Google confirmed that green ad label is no longer a test but rolling out for all users across the globe.
Here is what Google stated:
“We regularly test ways to improve the look and feel of our search results page. We’ve been experimenting with a green search ad label and have decided to roll it out based on positive feedback from users and advertisers. Our goal is to make our results page easy to use, and our labelling clear and prominent,” a Google spokesperson told Search Engine Land”.
Impact of green label ads on the mobiles
Using green label in display URL and ads make it easier to miss. Google studied about the impact of a change of color in the ads or whether it helps to distinguish paid advertising and organic listing by users, but it hasn’t found any.
But, Google ad label is more visible than others like Yahoo, Bing or other sponsored ads in social media like Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest.
Google has stated that green labels ads will be rolling out on all devices globally. If you’re not seeing it now, soon you will.
