The company which receives an algorithm or manual penalty notices from Google start panicking. In this condition, they do not know what to do next in order to figure out the problems of getting this notice. So, in this blog, I have given the suggestion given by Matt Cutts what to do on receiving these emails. He is the head of Google’s web spam team. I think this will help you to find to take the next suitable step and figure out the problems if you ever get this notice.
Google has two penalties for the company for the spam in their website and these are manual penalty and algorithm penalty. So, Matt has advised the companies getting this notice to seek help from the Google’s webmaster help forum in order to figure out the problems. But if you are not getting satisfactory details of your problems, then you can file a reconsideration request to get more details of it. This detail will help the company to find out the exact problem and in which URLs. If the company comes to know about the exact problems, this will help them to fix the problems quickly and file a reconsideration requests to the Google.
This is because Google is trying to be more transparent with the notices it is sending to the company.
Earlier, BBC has received a notice of unnatural links warning which is only pointing to a single page of spam in the site. This week Mozilla received a manual penalty notice from the Google which created panic and confusion in the company. Later, it was confirmed that it is due to the single spam which was found on the site. This problem was easily fixed by the company after coming to know about it.
I think this blog has helped you to understand that you don’t have panic anymore when there is any penalty for spam in your site. This is because Google is helping the company to sort out their problems with its suggestion and instructions.
